It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.

About Your Therapist
Your presence is a present!

Hi! My name is Stephanie Barbee. Thank you for visiting and trusting me in supporting your growth and healing. As a licensed clinical social worker, I am constantly learning and investing in education, giving clients access to a variety of techniques to support them. I have experience in working with attachment challenges and big T and little T traumas, as well as "life is hard right now" stressors. I believe in healing being a holistic process and work to help you explore mind, body, and spirit. I primarily use Brainspotting and somatic experiencing. My caseload for individual sessions is capped at 15 clients per week.
I am available to support groups in community settings (such as schools and nonprofit organizations), organize workshops, or speak at conferences. I offer professional coaching to social service leaders, educators, clinicians, and nonprofit boards. If you have a specific need, please reach out for a consultation and discuss the best ways to move forward. I am grateful you are here and I look forward to working together toward your healing or the healing of your community. Email or contact me today to start or continue your journey!

We are proud to specialize in providing affirmative support services to our clients.
We all have struggles, worries, stressors, and problems at times. Sometimes we want to deepen our relationships with ourselves. Other times, we are dealing with effects of oppression. Or we want to learn how to love ourselves radically. Who wants to have to educate their therapist about their identity when you come for healing, validation, and acceptance. In this space, your gender identity or sexuality is not only accepted, but open to being understood both as defined by the mainstream and as defined by you as an individual.
Whether you identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Queen, Genderqueer, Transgender, something else entirely, not sure, or don't like to label yourself, you can get what you need here.
Some of the issues we support include:
-
The "coming out" process - with family, friends, children, or workplace
-
Buidling confidence in authentically living your indent(ies).
-
Gender Identity/Gender Dysphoria concerns
-
Intimate partner relationship concerns
-
Self-criticism, Guilt, or Shame
-
Anxiety or Worry
-
Past traumas and challenging experiences
-
Spritual/religious conflict
